When travelling to Nairobi, the thought of looking out at the view from my window can be a deciding factor when choosing a hotel. With my busy schedule, I sometimes need that quiet respite to relax and rejuvenate, and gazing at the beautiful landscapes and cityscapes across the horizon can be the perfect way to start my day or end an evening.

There are many luxurious hotels located in Nairobi that offer incredible views, and I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing a few of them. One of my favourites is Giraffe Manor, which is home to a herd of Rothschild’s giraffes. From the property’s hilltop perch, guests can watch the giraffes below as they feed on the property’s extensive gardens.

Another great choice is the Nairobi Serena Hotel. Positioned atop a hill in the city’s central business district, it offers stunning views of the cityscape and its famous wildlife reserves, such as the Nairobi National Park. The hotel has even been known to welcome lions, elephants, and other animals from the park onto its property in the evening, providing guests with a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

If you’re looking for a more tropical getaway, the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel located on the shores of Lake Naivasha is a great option. Guests can relax on the private beach, take a swim in the lake, or enjoy a drink on the deck while taking in the views of the surrounding mountains.
